Why we carry it
A keypad deadbolt without the smart-home part. If what you want is to stop hiding a key under the mat, the Powerbolt 250 does that without an app: 25 codes, five one-time codes for the plumber, auto-lock, and a lit keypad you can read at night. Kwikset rates the batteries at about a year.
It has SmartKey, so we can key it to your existing Kwikset key when we install it, and the transitional trim suits newer doors. It is rated ANSI/BHMA Grade 3; if you want a Grade 2 deadbolt, look at the SmartCode 914 or the Yale Assure Lock 2.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I control it from my phone?
No. The Powerbolt 250 has no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth; codes are set up at the lock itself. That keeps it simple, and Kwikset rates the batteries at about a year. For phone control, choose the Halo or the Yale Assure Lock 2.
What is a one-time code?
A code that works once and then deletes itself. Give one to a delivery driver or a contractor without handing out your main code.
Can this be keyed to match my existing house key?
Yes, if your current locks take a Kwikset (KW1) key. This lock has a SmartKey cylinder, so it can be re-keyed to your key in a few minutes: we do it when we install it, or you can do it yourself with the SmartKey tool in the box. If your home uses Schlage keys, call us before ordering.
Will you install it?
Yes. Check "Add professional installation" when you add it to your cart, and we come to you anywhere in our Northeast Georgia service area, mount the lock, key it to match and program your codes with you. Online installation covers replacing hardware in the same door holes; for new holes or door repairs, call us for a quote.
