The Aura is for people who want codes and an app but do not want their front door on the internet. It pairs to your phone over Bluetooth, so you manage codes and see activity when you are at the door, and nobody can reach it from anywhere else. That makes it a favourite for detached garages, workshops and rental units where Wi-Fi is thin or you would rather not extend it.

Same SmartKey cylinder as the Halo, so we can key it to your existing key, and the same 20-minute fire rating. If you want to lock the door from the office or get a notification when the kids get home, that is the Halo or the Yale; if you want a keypad that just works and a phone app for housekeeping, this is the cheaper way to get it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I unlock it from work?

No. The Aura is Bluetooth only, so the app works when you are within range of the door. For remote control, choose the Kwikset Halo (Wi-Fi) or the Yale Assure Lock 2.

Can guests use a code without the app?

Yes. You create codes in the app and anyone can use them at the keypad. You can give codes a schedule so a cleaner's code only works on Tuesdays, for example.

Can this be keyed to match my existing house key?

Yes. This lock uses a Kwikset KW1 keyway with SmartKey, so if your current locks take a Kwikset key we can re-key it to match in a few minutes — at installation, or in the shop before it ships. If your home uses Schlage keys, ask us about options before ordering.

Will you install it?
