Traditional single-cylinder electronic deadbolt with an illuminated keypad, one-touch locking, SmartKey Security, Zigbee/Home Connect integration, Grade 2 hardware, adjustable backset, and up to 30 user codes. Fits standard 1-3/8 inch to 2 inch doors and requires four AA batteries.
The 914 is the smart lock for people who already run a smart home. It has no app and no Wi-Fi of its own; it joins your Zigbee hub — SmartThings, an Alexa Echo with a built-in hub, Hubitat and the like — and from then on it is just another device in the system you already use. Battery life is the payoff: no Wi-Fi radio means Kwikset rates it at a year or more on four AAs, and the traditional trim looks right on an older door.
It is a Grade 2 deadbolt with SmartKey, so we can key it to your house key. If you do not have a Zigbee hub and do not want one, order the Halo instead; this lock does nothing clever on its own.
Yes. The 914 is a Zigbee device and has no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth of its own. It needs a Zigbee-capable hub such as Samsung SmartThings or an Amazon Echo with a built-in Zigbee hub. Without one it still works as a keypad deadbolt with up to 30 codes, but you cannot control it from a phone.
Kwikset makes the 914 in both Zigbee and Z-Wave. This listing is the Zigbee version. If your hub is Z-Wave only, call us before ordering.
Yes. This lock uses a Kwikset KW1 keyway with SmartKey, so if your current locks take a Kwikset key we can re-key it to match in a few minutes — at installation, or in the shop before it ships. If your home uses Schlage keys, ask us about options before ordering.
