Why we carry it

A single dummy is one Seabrook lever on a square rose for one side of a door that doesn't need to latch: a closet, a pantry, or the inactive door of a pair. It doesn't turn a latch; it gives you something to pull, and it matches the Seabrook passage and privacy levers on the doors around it.

Because there's no latch, something else has to hold the door shut, usually a ball catch or roller catch at the top of the door. If the door you're fitting doesn't have one, call us before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does "single dummy" mean?

One lever, for one side of the door, with no latch or lock behind it. It is a pull for doors that are held shut some other way, such as a closet door with a ball catch.

How will the door stay closed?

Not with this lever: it has no latch. Doors fitted with a dummy need a catch, such as a ball catch or roller catch, to stay shut. If yours doesn't have one, call us before ordering.

Do I need a left- or right-hand version?

No. It is non-handed, so it fits a door that swings either way.

Will you install it?

Yes. Check "Add professional installation" when you add it to your cart, and we come to you anywhere in our Northeast Georgia service area, take off the old pull or dummy knob, fit this one in its place and check that the door's catch still holds it shut. Online installation covers replacing hardware in the same door holes; for new holes or door repairs, call us for a quote.
